With a degree in Geophysics Engineering and a Master’s in Emergency, Risk, and Disaster Management, Mert spent years managing high-stakes operations in both government and private sectors. He’s been in the trenches of disaster relief, risk mitigation, and crisis response—so handling market volatility? That’s just another day at the office.
But Mert isn’t just a strategist, he’s a builder. Over three decades, he’s launched nine businesses, mentored students at Bosphorus and Istanbul Universities, and trained over 350 teams in high-level in-person workshops. Oh, and he also became the first person ever to be internationally certified by FEMA as a Trainer of Trainers (TOTs), because why settle for being a student when you can teach the teachers?
The Trading Hustle: From the Global Financial Crisis to Mastering Futures
Mert’s trading obsession started in high school, but by the time he hit college, it became serious business. In 2006, he took charge of his family’s fund, and when the Global Financial Crisis hit, he didn’t panic—he studied, adapted, and built a strategy that would define his trading philosophy for years to come.
Then in 2011, he went all in on options trading, eventually turning it into a side hustle-turned-profession. By 2018, Mert was fully committed to trading full-time, sharpening his edge in selling options and dominating the Futures Options market while maintaining a solid portfolio of long-term investments.
